LifeShare Blood Center is facing a critical blood and platelet shortage after recent winter weather disrupted donations across the Texarkana region.
Closures and canceled blood drives reduced collections while hospital demand remains high. The shortage is especially serious for platelets, which only last five to seven days and are vital for cancer patients, trauma victims, and surgical patients.
LifeShare is urging eligible donors to give as soon as possible.
Donations can be scheduled online or by phone, with the Texarkana donor center located on Summerhill Road.
