Two Arkansas women are facing charges in Bowie County after being accused of stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise from a Texarkana store.
Javona Shantell Whitmore, 42, and Allison Chanel Williams, 36, both of Pine Bluff, allegedly targeted the Victoria’s Secret store on Richmond Road in early December.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the women entered the store on December 3 and filled tote bags with more than $2,800 worth of fragrances before leaving. A witness recorded video of the suspects leaving in a white Nissan Altima. Police say the pair returned on December 5 and stole additional merchandise.
Investigators later linked the vehicle to Williams. Authorities also say Whitmore is suspected in a series of organized retail thefts totaling more than $96,000.
Both women are charged with theft of property and organized retail theft. Whitmore remains in jail on a $200,000 bond, while Williams has been released on bonds totaling $50,000.
