Testimony began Tuesday in the trial of a Texarkana man accused of intentionally running over another man in a church parking lot last year.
Patrick Jerome Cridell Jr., 33, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities say the incident happened March 30, 2025, at Grace Fellowship Church on Hazel Street in Texarkana, Texas.
According to investigators, Cridell allegedly drove a silver Kia Forte into the parking lot and intentionally struck a pedestrian. Surveillance video from Texarkana Independent School District reportedly captured the incident.
The victim suffered a brain bleed and traumatic head injuries but managed to crawl to nearby Highland Park Elementary School, where he was found the next morning.
Police later located the damaged vehicle at a home on Walnut Street. Investigators say the car showed damage consistent with the crash.
Cridell is being held in the Bowie County Jail on a $200,000 bond. If convicted, he faces two to 20 years in prison.
