These cameras are designed to protect children by capturing images of vehicles — including license plates — when drivers illegally pass a stopped bus with its stop arm extended. What happens if you don’t stop? Bus drivers are reporting violations directly to the School Resource Officer, and traffic citations are being issued to the registered owner of the vehicle. First violation? That ticket will cost you up to $645.
