The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering disaster loans to help Arkansas residents and businesses recover from the severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding that occurred between April 2 and April 22, 2025.
Residents in 17 declared counties—including Miller County—may qualify for assistance. Low-interest loans are available for homeowners, renters, businesses, and nonprofits to repair or replace damaged property or cover lost income.
A local disaster assistance center will open Tuesday, May 27 at 8 a.m. at the Miller County Office of Emergency Management, 409 Hazel Street in Texarkana, Arkansas. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the center will close at the end of the day Saturday, May 31.
Loan limits range up to $2 million for businesses, $600,000 for homeowners, and $100,000 for renters. Interest rates vary, with terms up to 30 years and a 12-month deferment on payments.
The deadline to apply for physical damage loans is July 21, 2025. For economic injury loans, the deadline is February 23, 2026.
