An 18-year-old New Boston man is facing charges after police say he refused to let a teenage girl out of his car.
Officers stopped Nathan Isayah Stephens around 7:45 p.m. January 21 near North Bowie and Lanier streets. A 16-year-old girl ran to police, crying, and said she had been taken from a church parking lot in Simms and would not be allowed to leave the vehicle. Stephens was arrested and charged with unlawful restraint.
He remains in the Bowie County jail with bond set at $20,000.
