A Maud man is facing a felony animal cruelty charge after a brindle pit bull puppy was euthanized earlier this month with severe injuries.
Investigators say 32-year-old Haydon Gray Crawford allegedly threw the dog into a bathtub after becoming angry. The puppy suffered broken bones and brain trauma before being put down on September 3.
Crawford is also accused of threatening a family member and faces a misdemeanor terroristic threat charge. If convicted of animal cruelty, he could receive two to ten years in prison. He remains in the Bowie County Jail on $30,000 bond.
