A 34-year-old man has been charged after allegedly setting a dumpster on fire behind a Texarkana pawn shop. Police say Michael Jacob Castillo was caught on surveillance video climbing into a dumpster behind Cash America Pawn on New Boston Road on August 25. Minutes later, flames and smoke were seen as Castillo walked away.
Officers quickly detained him and say he admitted to smoking meth inside the dumpster. A small bag of suspected meth was also found in his pocket. Castillo remains in the Bowie County Jail on $53,000 bond, facing arson and drug possession charges. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison.
