The Texarkana, Texas Fire Department is investigating a deadly house fire that happened late Friday night in the 1800 block of West 7th Street.

Fire crews arrived to find a two-story home heavily engulfed in flames, with thick smoke limiting visibility. Firefighters initially entered the home to search for occupants but were forced to pull back due to intense heat and rapidly spreading fire.
After knocking down the flames from outside, crews re-entered the home and discovered two people deceased during a secondary search.
Their names have not yet been released as officials work to notify family members.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
