Police say Officer Pendergrass recognized Michael Birdwell on Ferguson Street and attempted to stop him. Birdwell allegedly sped away, eventually abandoning his still-running vehicle in a neighbor’s yard.
After officers obtained a search warrant, Birdwell and Gena Rose were found hiding in the attic. Birdwell was charged with fleeing and his outstanding warrant, while Rose was arrested on two unrelated felony warrants.
Police say Birdwell’s car was impounded.
